ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) USAGE POLICY FOR CAMPAIGN ENTRIES
(IF EXPLICITLY PERMITTED IN CAMPAIGN / EVENT RULES)
Last updated: 26 May 2026
Important rules you need to know as the Entrants of our Campaign
These rules are part of the full Campaign Terms and Conditions (“Campaign T&Cs). This addendum forms part of the Campaign T&Cs. To the extent of any inconsistency between this addendum and the other provisions of the Campaign T&Cs, this addendum shall prevail. The Campaign Rules shall take precedence over this addendum in accordance with clause 1.3 of the Campaign T&Cs.
1. CAN I USE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) TOOLS?
1.1 Entrants are welcome to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support their Entries. This includes generating or enhancing images, text, video, or audio, as well as refining original work. There are no restrictions on the type of AI tools you may use.
1.2 In respect of the games Foundation: Galactic Frontier or DC: Dark Legion (“Licensed Games”), you are not allowed to upload or use any game assets into an AI tool.
1.3 Entrants are responsible for ensuring that any AI tools used in creating their Entries are used lawfully, appropriately, and in compliance with applicable laws and the relevant AI tools’ terms of use.
1.4 What an Entrant can and cannot do in summary?
| YOU CAN | YOU CANNOT |
| ✔ Generate images, text, video, or audio
✔ Use AI to support, edit or refine your own work ✔ Combine AI tools and your own creativity ✔ Submit both AI and non-AI submissions ✔ Use any AI tools of your choice, provided they are used responsibly. |
✘ Use AI Tools in a way that infringes the rights of others (e.g. copyright, trade marks, privacy).
✘ Pass off AI-generated work as entirely your own ✘ Upload or use any assets from the Licensed Games in any AI tool ✘ Copy any third-party game’s characters, art style, or world ✘ Put a real person’s face or voice in your entry without permission ✘ Generate any content depicting minors ✘ Generate misleading, deceptive, or harmful content |
2. AI DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENT
Entrants are welcome to use AI tools, but full transparency is mandatory. If any AI tool has been used at any stage of your submission, no matter how minor, you must clearly disclose this in the submission form. This applies to all forms of AI assistance, including small edits or touch-ups. In the AI disclosure section, please provide:
2.1 Type of AI Use: Indicate whether your submission is AI-Assisted (AI supported parts of your work) or AI-Generated (AI created most of the content).
2.2 Tools Used: List all AI tools used (e.g., Midjourney, ChatGPT, Suno, ElevenLabs, Stable Diffusion).
2.3 Purpose of Use: Briefly describe how AI was used (e.g., “generated the background,” “wrote the caption,” “created the music”).
Important:
Failure to disclose any use of AI will be treated as a violation of the rules. This may result in immediate disqualification and, where applicable, withdrawal of any awarded prizes. Disclosures made outside the submission form (e.g., hashtags on social media) do not meet this requirement.
3. USE OF THIRD-PARTY CONTENT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Using AI does not automatically make your submission copyright-safe. You are responsible for ensuring that your entry does not infringe the rights of others.
3.1 General Content Restrictions:
- Your submission must not copy or closely imitate the art style, characters, or world of any specific game (including our own). Prompts such as “in the style of [game]” or “create a character like [character name]” are not permitted.
- Reproduce or include game assets, soundtracks, logos, or UI elements from any game.
- Use AI-generated audio created with tools that rely on unlicensed or unclear training data. You may be asked to confirm which tool was used and whether it uses properly licensed data.
3.2 Strict Prohibition – for participation in game DC: Dark Legion and Foundation: Galactic Frontier (“Licensed Games”)
- You must not upload or use any assets from the Licensed Games in AI tools. This includes, but is not limited to, characters, environments, artwork, soundtracks, UI elements, logos, and any other in-game material. This rule applies in all cases, regardless of your intent or how the output is used.
- Entries that do not comply will be disqualified, and further action may be taken if necessary.
Good Practice:
If you are unsure whether your use of AI may copy or derive from existing intellectual property, do not proceed. The safest Entries are those driven by your own creative direction and that do not resemble or replicate existing works.
If you wish to reference the Licensed Games, you must do so using your own original creations or descriptions, never by using in-game assets.
4. USE OF REAL PEOPLE, CHILDREN, AND PERSONAL INFORMATION
You must not submit any AI-generated content that uses or depicts a real person’s face, voice, name, or likeness without their prior written consent. This applies to all individuals, including other players, streamers, esports professionals, celebrities, and our employees. If a person can be clearly recognised in the output, the content must not be submitted without consent. Simply generating the content through a prompt does not remove this responsibility.
AI-generated content must not depict, or reasonably appear to depict, anyone under the age of 18. This applies to all formats, including images, video, audio, and character designs, and covers both real and fictional individuals.
You must not upload or input personal data into any AI tool unless you have a valid legal basis to do so (for example, the individual’s consent). This includes any information that could identify a person, such as faces, voices, usernames, or other identifiable data.
This is an absolute rule with no exceptions.
