FunPlus’ Foundation: Galactic Frontier Soars Into Season Two

Season two will include a new map, gameplay features, rival faction, Steam integration, and more!

 

FunPlus, one of the world’s largest independent game developers, is launching the second season of the next-generation sci-fi strategy RPG, Foundation: Galactic Frontier, with a major in-game update on September 14, 2026.

Season two will introduce players to a plethora of new features, events, storylines, and more, including:

  • New Season in Game: The Usurper Rebellion

    • In Season 2, players will enter a new star province called “Sivana.” Sivana is rich in resources, constantly affected by magnetic storms, and long forgotten by the Empire. The region is controlled by an independent regime known as the “Ascendancy Court.” Its ruler calls himself the “Ascendancy Emperor,” who serves as the final boss of Season 2. Magnetic storms will negatively affect players’ fleets and combat efficiency.

  • New Gameplay Features in Season 2

    • New Regional Map: Sivana
    • New Rival Force: Ascendancy Court
    • New Mechanic: Magnetic Storms & Resistance
      • Magnetic storms apply negative effects to players. While affected by magnetic storms, PvE efficiency is reduced. By staying active, players can earn special resources. These resources can be used to upgrade resistance buildings in the main base. Continued upgrades will eventually eliminate the effects of the magnetic storm entirely.

  • New Guild-based Gameplay: Aromabloom Trade War

    • A guild-based PvE map battle activity. Commerce guilds discover treasures through clues and analyze them at their station bases. While “The Ascendancy” dispatches fleets to seize the treasures, guild members must defend against these attacks.
